Technique. Multi-detector CT chest with intravenous contrast on Siemens Somatom Force, 0.75 mm slice thickness, axial, coronal, and sagittal reformats.
Findings. Lung windows demonstrate a sub-segmental filling defect in the right lower lobe pulmonary artery, consistent with acute pulmonary embolism. There is no associated parenchymal infarction. Mild bilateral basal atelectasis. No focal consolidation, mass, or pleural effusion. Trachea and central airways are patent.
Mediastinum shows no significant lymphadenopathy. Heart size is normal. Pericardium is unremarkable. Coronary arteries show mild calcification on the left anterior descending artery▌
